Scouse youth trounce Warwick 1sts

The much anticipated friendly ended in disappointment for Warwick, as the Reds won 4-2.

The Liverpool U18s were visiting the Warwick PAIS department, as part of a trip to get a taste of University life.

And to round up their visit, they played against the University’s first team, with many students making up the crowd to watch the budding future stars play.

Despite being up at 2-1 for the first half, Warwick eventually lost out, after a penalty from the U18s resulted in their victory.

But it wasn’t all bad news, as the crowd loved the match.

“It was very entertaining”, one spectator said.

Second year Amar even managed to get a photo with one of the U18s players Yan Dhanda.

He said: “They were coming off the pitch after the game and I said that I thought he’s quality and just asked for a picture.”

The University of Warwick Men’s Football Club concluded that it was an experience that will “rank amongst the highlights of our time at Warwick for all who were involved.”
