Coventry Is One of the Top Cities For One Night Stands

Kasbah, anyone?

| UPDATED

Coventry has been ranked as the sixth city in which people are most likely to have casual sex, in a recent survey.

The survey, which saw 9% of people from Coventry asked admitting to a one night stand, was conducted over December, which may not be the month you’ll find Kasbah crammed with Warwick students, but maybe a few celebratory finger bangs after essays and exams in Week 10 contributed to the statistics.

The start of something beautiful? Or the start of a dose of chlamydia?

Beating out other cities famous for weak knicker elastic such as Manchester, Liverpool and  Newcastle (maybe Gaz and Scotty T were on holiday?), Coventry also has 14% of people at increased risk of an STI, as they admitted to engaging in unprotected sex during the holiday season.

The survey was commissioned by Pharmacy2U, an online doctor service, to show how common it is to expose yourself to the risk of an STI, despite most people being in shock when they are diagnosed with it. “An unplanned pregnancy can be people’s main worry when it comes to unprotected sex, so getting an STI can be a shock,” said the medical director of the service, Dr Nitin Shori.

Definitely regretting sleeping with a man who doesn’t have a mattress protector on his bed.

So if you’ve found yourself with a ‘lovely’ Coventry lad/lass after one too many 80p shots in Kasbah, you may want to find out when the SU’s next GUM clinic is taking place, sharpish.
