Love it oar hate it: Warwick’s Naked Rowers Are Everywhere!

Warwick’s Naked Rowers have been all over the press recently, with articles in Grazia, the Daily Mail and even a spot in E! News in the US. Evidently, The Tab love them too.

Their calendar, the sales for which will go towards fighting homophobia in sport, has taken the world by storm with its steamy, almost homo-erotic photographs, but sadly no cox in sight.

The rowers told The Tab:

“We were blown away by the response to our support of Ben Cohen Stand up foundation. Supporters wrote in to us explaining their experiences of homophobia and why the stance we were taking meant so much. This has motivated us to set up Sport Allies, our very own outreach programme in partnership with EACH. We hope one day Sport Allies can become a charity itself.”

“It took us 4 days to shoot the calendar, all of which took place at our Boat House on the Avon in June. We also had some great props this year, including suncream and a puppy!”

“This year we have gone for a more natural feel, with fewer well placed oars and more natural scenes, basically what we do everyday at the boat house… just naked!”

“Getting naked wasn’t a problem really, we’re all good friends and after about 5 minutes it turned into 4 of the most hilarious days we’ve had at university! It didn’t take long for the water fight to become a ruckus, with guys getting pushed in… which by chance made for a great calendar shot”

Doubt they’re the only ones getting wet…

“We’re thrilled with the calendar, we think the photos look great and with all of the extra bonus photos and the film we look forward to raising lots of money for Sport Allies!”

The calendar has even gained some celebrity fans, including Gok Wan, Boy George and Stephen Fry – who have all bought the calendar and donated to the cause in the process. Across the pond celebrities’ interests have been piqued as well, in particular Crystal Hefner – yes, the very lucky wife to Hugh – who has invited the boys to stay at the Playboy Mansion ‘whenever they are in LA’. Could this be the start to a riveting spin-off of ‘Girls of the Playboy Mansion’?

Speaking of reality TV, the boys have also caught the eye of Made in Chelsea hotties Binky Felstead and Caggie Dunlop. Caggie in particular is very taken with one of the boys , even setting up a date to go ‘party’ with him in London via Twitter. Whoever said romance was dead?
