You’re more likely to be a victim of crime if you’re at UoB than UWE

One in 33 UWE students will be victim of crime


The Complete University Guide has assembled an annual list of the number of crimes reported from July 2015 to June 2016 per one thousand residents within student areas. The report included crimes such as burglary, robbery and violence and sexual offences. They found out that the University of West England had a total score of three per cent for all crimes accounted for.

2.5% per cent of people at UWE are likely to be a victim of violence and sexual offences. On top of that, one per cent of people are likely to be burgled and less than one percent of people are likely to be robbed.

Overall, the University of Bristol students are more likely to be a victim of crime by 2%, when compared to students from UWE. When discussing violence and sexual offences, the University of Bristol students are more likely to be a victims by 1% when compared to students from the University of West England.

These statistics are based on all residents and not just students, the results are taken within wards or electoral divisions weighted by student population.
