Tips for staying warm

With Christmas just two weeks away it’s a great time to start saving some cash without freezing to death.

The indications that the usual Bristol Winter is ready to set in for another 5 months are pretty clear, if it’s not raining 19 hours of the day then the frosty wind will certainly cause  further joy whilst waiting for the Wessex buses in the morning.

For most students now this drop in temperature doesn’t mean the automatic switching on of the heating.

Gas and Electric companies across Britain are increasing their prices annually with the markets dominated by 6 giant corporations…brilliant.

Here’s how to fight back.

Invest in tea

Keeps you warm and the caffeine will pick you up if you’re feeling dog-tired.

Tactical obesity

Remember your mum telling you to “wear lots of layers”? Think of obesity as a layer you’re wearing all the time. You’re welcome, mum.

Leave the oven open

It’s warmth that you’ve paid for, don’t leave it trapped in a box in the corner of your kitchen.

Love the library

The walk to the top floor of the Frenchay library will have you sweating and if it gets really cold you can always stay forever.

Put your beer jacket on

If you drink enough of it, Biere D’Or is essentially a onesie in a bottle.

Empty your wardrobe

You paid for them, you should use them. All of them. All of the time.
