Almost 800 confirmed cases of coronavirus at Brighton-based universities

There have now been over 500 cases at the University of Sussex


There have now been a total of 786 reported cases of coronavirus since students returned to university in September. The University of Sussex has reported 546 cases, whilst the University of Brighton has recorded 226, The Argus reports.

At Sussex, around 346 of the cases are from students living on campus, and 193 are reported off campus. There have been reports of cases from six staff who are based off campus and only one other person who is associated with the university.

Leading up to November 2nd, there were 44 off-campus and 39 on-campus cases reported at Sussex. The University of Brighton recorded around 45 student cases and two staff cases in the same time period.
