Mobile testing unit to return to Sussex campus for ten days

This comes after the first temporary testing unit was opened 2 weeks ago.

In an email from Pro Vice-Chancellor Kelly Coate, it has been announced that the mobile testing unit will return to The University of Sussex campus.

The unit will be located in the Arts car park for 10 days, from today (October 16th) until Sunday 25th, in an attempt to help those experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.

This comes after the university’s recent report that there are a total of 75 students and staff at the University of Sussex who are isolating due to a positive COVID-19 test result, and Brighton’s placement under the medium Covid alert level, under the new government guidelines.

Unfortunately, tests can only be given to those experiencing symptoms, and not to those living with others who have symptoms, or who have been in close contact with suspected cases.

Swab tests for the mobile testing unit can be booked through the national booking system here.

Information from The University of Sussex regarding coronavirus symptoms and self-isolation can be found here.
