Start things right by gathering some information about your new stomping ground. The students’ union are hosting a virtual freshers’ fair throughout freshers’ week. You will be able to navigate a virtual map of campus, stopping off along the way to find out about all of the opportunities available to your while you’re at Sussex.

Sunday 20th September

Now that you’ve figured out your way around campus, it’s time to explore Brighton. If you’re not sure where to head first, tune in to a virtual tour of the city hosted by the LGBTQ+ society on facebook live. Or, if you’re feeling brave, turn left as you walk out of Brighton train station and get lost in the North Lanes.

Monday 21st September

So you’ve seen the city by day… but it’s a whole different world at night. Coalition are providing you with the opportunity to party on the seafront at their Big Freshers’ Terrace Party. It’s promised to be every bit as wild as a usual Brighton night out, but a little more socially distanced. Don’t worry if a Monday night party is not your thing, Coalition are repeating the party on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tuesday 22nd September

By now, all of your flatmates have arrived, and you’re wondering if these are the only people you’re going to speak to for the next three years. Fear not, there are thousands of people you haven’t met yet and the students’ union are sending you on a speed date with your fellow freshers. Jump onto this virtual Speed Mates event at 1pm, you never know you might meet your future bestie.

Wednesday 23rd September

Usually Wednesdays are made for sports and socials here in Brighton, so it’s time to put a new spin on our Wednesday traditions. Get sporty and join a free virtual yoga class at midday. Then, gather your new found friends for a Mamma Mia screening, hosted by the Sussex Dance Society. Alternately, if singing ABBA in your pjs isn’t your thing, test your sporting knowledge in a virtual sports quiz hosted by Question of Sports star Phil Tufnell.

Thursday 24th September

On Thursday night the queen of Essex, Cheryl Hole, is hosting the ultimate drag quiz. If you think you know enough, grab your best Judies and join in with the Big Freshers’ Drag Quiz.

Friday 25th September
