A waiter from Brighton is under investigation for kidnapping and slavery
The victim is being supported by specialist safeguarding officers
Frances GurneyThe man was arrested yesterday after a reported kidnapping on Ditchling Road, Brighton, around 1pm.
Officers who attended the scene found a vehicle which had been involved in an incident, and arrested a man.
Zakaria El Alami has been charged with requiring a person to perform forced labour under the Modern Slavery Act and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was confined in custody and is due to appear in Lewes Crown Court on April 3rd.
The victim, a local man in his 20s, is being supported by specialist safeguarding officers and has been placed into the National referral Mechanism.
