A student from The University of Sussex has died by suicide this weekend
The family of the student have been informed
Frances GurneyOver the weekend a student from the University of Sussex has passed away, The Sussex Tab can confirm.
A spokesperson from the University confirmed the death in an email and said: "We are in close contact with the family of our student and we ask that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time."
When addressing the death in the email, the University spokesperson said: "Our thoughts are with our student’s family and friends at this extremely sad time.
"It is really important that students talk to someone if they have been affected by this and we encourage students to contact our Student Life Centre at the earliest opportunity if they need care or support."
The University of Sussex have not released any further details on the identity of year of the student, as they wish to ensure privacy for the family at this time.
