Brighton GP closes after member of staff tests positive for coronavirus

Eight UK cases have now been confirmed

A doctor's practice in Carden Hill, North Brighton has been forced to close immediately after a member of staff tested positive for the coronavirus.

This news comes after the UK's third case of the virus was confirmed in Brighton last week, however the NHS has advised residents not to panic as chances of contracting the illness are still low.

Advice remains to use 111 for information and 999 for emergencies.

The County Oak Medical Centre is located next to a primary school and parade of shops and, for the safety of local residents, the centre states that "the building has had to close due to an urgent operational health and safety reason". Paper signs also stating this have been placed near the GP entrance and car park.
