Sussex Varsity is back for 2019
The full fixture lineup has been released
Grace HelpsSussex and Brighton Universities have confirmed that they will host the return of Varsity from March 6th 2019, following the University of Sussex voting in favour of reinstating the fixture in April last year.
A series of competitive Football, Ultimate Frisbee, Badminton, Volleyball, Netball, Rugby, Basketball, American Football, Hockey and Lacrosse events will take place across the month of March.
The tickets, which will cost £2, will be made available to club members first on Monday February 4th and will then be made available for all other students from Monday February 11th.
After being cancelled last year due to the outbreak of violence during the Men's Rugby event in 2017, both universities have spent the past year getting ready to welcome a more supported range of events spread over the course of a few weeks.
The fixtures have been released and are as followed:
Wednesday March 6:
– Football women 1pm – 3pm: University of Sussex campus, Falmer Sports Complex, 3G.
– Football men 3pm – 5pm: University of Sussex campus, Falmer Sports Complex, 3G.
Friday March 8:
– Ultimate frisbee men: 6pm – 8pm: University of Brighton 3G (Falmer campus).
Sunday March 17:
– Badminton men 10am – 2pm: University of Sussex campus, Sussex Sports centre.
– Badminton women 10am – 2pm: University of Sussex campus, Sussex Sports centre.
Monday March 18:
– Volleyball men 5:15pm – 7pm: University of Sussex campus, Sussex Sports centre.
– Netball women 6pm – 8pm: University of Brighton sports centre (Falmer campus).
– Volleyball women 7:15pm – 9pm: University of Sussex campus, Sussex Sports centre.
Wednesday March 20:
– Rugby men 1:30pm – 3:15pm: University of Brighton grass pitch (Falmer campus).
– Rugby women 3:30pm – 5:30pm: University of Brighton grass pitch (Falmer campus).
Saturday March 23:
– Basketball women 1:30pm – 3pm: University of Brighton sports centre (Falmer campus).
– Basketball men 3:30pm – 6pm: University of Brighton sports centre (Falmer campus).
Sunday March 24:
– American Football 1-6pm: University of Brighton 3G (Falmer campus).
Wednesday March 27:
– Hockey men 1pm – 2:15pm: University of Sussex campus, Falmer Sports complex, astro.
– Hockey women 2:30pm – 5:45pm: University of Sussex campus, Falmer Sports complex, astro.
– Lacrosse women 4pm – 5:45pm: University of Sussex campus, Falmer Sports complex, astro.
– Lacrosse men 6pm – 8pm: the Clubhouse.
Upon arrival to the events, spectators will be required to bring proof of ticket purchase and photo ID to gain access to the sites. Please note that only students at Sussex or Brighton Universities are able to attend these events.
