Bored of queuing at Falmer station? Southern Rail have gone contactless

We’ve all suffered the nightmarish queue at Falmer Station

Southern Rail has introduced a new scheme in which you can now have your season tickets pre-loaded on a Key Smartcard – similar to the one that Brighton and Hove buses have. This means avoiding any unnecessary queues during the day and the annoyance of holding on to physical tickets throughout the day.

For those students who are Londoners, the Smartcard can be used at most stations getting into London and back as long as the journey starts outside London; and can be used at all Thameslink stations, buses, tubes, trams, DLR, London Overground and other National Rail Services.

You can register for the smartcard online for free, upon receiving the Smartcard you can load your purchased season tickets onto it and you can check where you can use the Smartcard in more detail here.
