Pakistani fashion show to be held at Sussex

A Saturday evening, the Pakistani way

Sussex’s Pakistani Society are gearing up to host a Pakistan fashion show this Saturday. The event will showcase men and women of many nationalities wearing Pakistani dress, followed by a ‘sangeet’ afterparty with a mix of Bollywood and Western music.

The show will run on the 8th of April from 7pm-10:30pm in Falmer house’s debating chamber, with tickets available for £8 online or £10 on the door. There will be a fully functional bar at the venue.

The event, open to everyone, aims to celebrate the rich culture of Pakistan, showcasing dresses designed by 2nd-year student Tanya Abbasi, ranging from traditional shalwar kameez, to ghagra choli, to vibrant sarees. After the show, attendees will be encouraged to listen to music, learn ‘desi’ moves to songs, meet new people and vote for the best dressed male and female model further into the night.
