Hey you, come have a look at the Sussex Refresher events

Several exciting events lined up for

Buckle up because it’s freshers week all over again and luckily enough we’ve got loads of events coming our way.

Tonight’s antics will begin with an exclusive talk with ‘Making a Murderer’ defence attorneys Dean Strang and Jerry Buting. Touring around the UK, the pair will host a talk about the justice system with an opportunity for Sussex students to ask questions.

Can’t make the event? East Slope will be hosting their ‘Jungle Jam’ where reggae, house, disco, and funk tunes will play over the sweet sweet airwaves.

On Tuesday the 31st you can go down to the Refreshers fair from 11am – 3pm at Falmer house and choose from over 200 clubs and societies to join. From Marxist Society to joining University Radio Falmer (URF), they’ve got something for everyone so start getting busy!

Shortly after you can lounge in Room 76 and enjoy a free movie night where they’ll be screening an acca awesome film so you better not miss it! Or you can go get hammered at SKINT, one of East Slope’s best nights.

On Wednesday come down to Falmer House for a bit more insight on house-hunting  at the Housing and Community Fair and learn more and get more support and advice.

You can also pop down to Room 76 and enjoy and evening of fine live music.

Don’t miss your chance to pet your stress away at a Doggy De-stressing session brought to you by Sussex Caring Pets, a local charity promoting the benefits of animal assisted therapy for those in need. There’ll be a pawful lot of pups to pet so don’t fur-get to come down.

If you’re still stressed, yoga sessions and tea-tox will also be held for free in Falmer House.

East Slope will also play host to the Gaming Retrobution where after a hard day of stroking animals and drinking green tea, students can play over 500 games across 8 different consoles all for free.

During the day you can take part in a free zorball event hosted by ActiveUS.

Back at East Slope again, except this time it is the launch of their new night TGIFunk.  With a live DJ playing disco, motown, and hip-hop, you can get your boogie down whilst sipping on some of East Slope’s drink deals.
