There’s phantom old men, phantom nuns and phantom dogs here

According to researched published by Mirror Online Brighton is the most haunted place to live in the UK.

Ghosts, ghouls and other spooky sights are more prevailing in the seaside resort than any other city in the entire country.

There have been at least 129 incidents of paranormal activity in and around Brighton over the past few  years according to an online database.

The following are few of Brighton’s many strange occurrences:

A knife being thrown mid air by an unknown hand at a restaurant (which was Leadbelly’s at the time, now El Mexicano) and ever since banging has been heard whenever the restaurant is empty. In addition members of the staff have reportedly seen a phantom of an old man in the basement.

A former manager of Lawleys (now Ape) has said to have seen three phantom nuns gliding across the floor then vanishing through a wall shortly after.

The vicinity around Churchill Square shopping centre has said to allegedly be home to ‘Black Belly’, a wraith which is usually observed from the corner of the eye. The figure of Black Belly is said to resemble a big bald man, wearing a shirt that isn’t large enough to cover his stomach, which is bruised and heavily bloated. Black Belly is also said to be hovering a few centimetres above ground level. The last witnesses of Black Belly were telecom engineers who were around the area and reported the sighting to the local police.

A phantom dog that is reportedly the size of a small horse has been said to follow lonely walkers on Brighton Beach for short distances before vanishing. A witness also reported seeing a man walking nearby during this incident, who disappeared along with the dog.
