New local business opened to help students with mental health

Rosie Baggs will be opening her third store tomorrow


Local businesswoman Rosie Baggs will be opening her third clothes store in Brighton with the intention to help people with their mental health.

Rosie’s stores specifically employs people with mental health issues and many of her proceedings go to charities.

Her shops take old clothes and reinvents them into cool and bold outfits.

Not only does Rosie own three stores, she has also hosted up-cycling fashion shows, silent auctions, and has a very popular online vlog series in which she addresses her experiences with mental health problems.

When asked why she does this, Rosie said: “The aim as the social project grows and funds are raised is that I will be able to offer paid employment opportunities to people who deal with mental health issues daily.

“In the long term the dream would be to have a clothing brand designed by the young people in popular high street fashion stores and communicating the message ‘it’s ok’ everyday.”

When we asked how Rosie was feeling with her new shop opening, she replied: “Absolutely buzzing, what girl wouldn’t want to open a clothes shop opposite Churchill Square? Being a local, this feels bloody brilliant.”

Rosie’s shop will be opening 1st October in  Imperial Arcade. She will also be taking part in the Churchill Square student lock in on 5th October.
