Burn baby burn: Thatcher banner burned on campus

Banner displayed by anti-socialists gets burned by socialists

| UPDATED

On the first day of term, an anti-socialist banner quoting Margaret Thatcher was hung up for all to see on Arts-A overlooking Library Square.

Whilst no-one has owned up to the stunt, presumably the twats pro-Tories were looking to cause controversy.

However their stunt backfired in more ways than just one.

The banner, quoting the infamous Margaret Thatcher, had one clear spelling mistake. Realy?

The banner reads: “Socialists cry ‘Power to the people’, and raise the clenched fist as they say it. We all know what they realy mean – power over people, power to the state”.

The notoriously left-wing Sussex campus responded to this grammatical catastrophe by removing the aesthetic eye-sore.

The banner was then taken and burned.

Not the first time someone’s tried to set Thatcher alight in Brighton.
