These are the best and worst universities in the country

The 2017 Complete Uni Guide rankings are out

Nottingham, Loughborough and Birmingham all went up in this year’s rankings, while Bristol and Nottingham Trent are among the biggest casualties.

In this year’s Complete University Guide leaderboard, the top five hasn’t changed. Oxbridge, LSE, Imperial and St Andrews still dominate the best places.

But Bristol fell by nine spots and Brooks dropped by a dramatic 11.

It was a good year for Manchester Met who came in at 57th (previously 73rd) and UCL who broke into the top ten.

The rankings are best on ten measures, including student satisfaction, research quality, entrance requirements and graduate prospects.

Lancaster became the best university in the North West, while Cardiff kept its place as the top institution in Wales.

Edge Hill also overtook John Moores to become the second best university in Liverpool.
