The world went crazy over the autocorrect mistake leading to Laura Seggie getting a blind girl on her cake.

Mortified Laura’s birthday treat was supposed to feature a blonde girl on top to match her golden-locks, but a ham-fisted text message changed everything.

The now-famous 21-year-old is a Strathclyde Politics and History fourth year.

The finalist spoke to The Tab about what just might be autocorrect’s greatest muck-up.

Laura said: “My mum had asked her friend, who was making the cake for my 21st, if she could put a ‘wee blonde girl’ on top, which autocorrected to ‘wee blind girl’.

“It wasn’t until my Mum went to pick up the cake that she discovered the blind girl on the cake, complete with white cane.”

The eyes of the world were on the Seggies and Laura has found her story all over the internet, radio and newspapers worldwide.

She added: “It’s completely mental, it’s went viral within the space of just over a day. I really can’t believe it.

“My mum and sister have even had someone from a talk show in Seattle email them asking if they could speak about it on their show.”

Even though she was blindsided by the unexpected icing, Laura took it with good humour and has certainly made a name for herself.

She said: “It was hilarious finding out, I actually wasn’t disappointed at all. We left it on the cake because we found it really funny.”

Autocorrect can be an absolute count.
