Stirling parking warden in “thoroughly good bloke” shocker

Parking warden leaves students a ‘happy anniversary’ note on their windshield rather than a ticket.

We’ve all been there. You finally bag a sweet parking spot, check your change compartment only to discover that you’re 10p short.

Do you move your car? Or do you enter into the game of Russian roulette that is dodging a hefty parking fine if you stay too long?

Nisse Laiho-Murdoch, a second year Journalism student, found himself with this dilemma on his anniversary with his girlfriend Iida. He decided to stake his chances on human kindness, leaving a note which read: “Was 10p short of 1 hour..Really hope you can forgive this! We’re out for our anniversary lunch.”

So imagine the shock when Nisse returned to his car at Stirling Corn Exchange to find a ‘fixed penalty notice’ stuck to his windshield. It contained a note from the parking warden – wishing him and his girlfriend a happy anniversary.

Explaining his gamble, Nisse said “‘knowing that we were risking a fine it was either that or moving the car and missing lunch.

“When we got back we saw the parking ticket and were really disappointed. However, the contents of it was something neither of us expected!”

The Tab says: what a thoroughly good bloke. This chap’s done Stirling proud!
