How to swap a can of beans for a great night out

There’s no excuse for missing Harvest Throwback

If you’re like me, then you’ll be shocked to know it is indeed Week 10, and exams are nearly upon us. Terrified? Maybe a bit. However, if you’re in search of an excuse to go out one last time, I have the perfect one: Asquire and The Vic Presents: Harvest Throwback.

A popular evening of old school tunes, dancing like it’s 1999, and drinking away your last days (or nights) of freedom, Throwback is the perfect distraction from impending deadlines.

This Thursday evening, Asquire will be hosting Throwback Harvest in support of Storehouse, a foodbank serving the most vulnerable people in our community of North East Fife. Since 2006 they have been giving out bags of food to individuals or families, from the unemployed to those who are in crisis and are unable to provide for themselves.

Instead of the regular £3 entry fee, guests are being asked to bring an item of food to be donated to Storehouse, St. Andrews. That’s right, rather than scrounge your flat for a few pounds, head down to Tesco and pick up food (canned beans, soup, dried pasta, etc.), or just look in the back of your kitchen cupboards and donate your non-perishables to a fantastic cause.

If you’re not willing to give up your beans, the £3 entry fee will be enforced, with all the proceeds going to Storehouse. So pop down to the Vic on Thursday to hear your old favourites courtesy of Asquire and Steve Le Mash, and help out a charitable cause while you dance the night away.
