Armed police in St Andrews after man found with serious injuries

A man was found with serious injuries on Sunday morning.

Armed police and a forensics team have been spotted investigating an incident that took place in Rose Lane (just off South Street) over the weekend.

Police Scotland said that “a 26-year-old man was found with serious injuries” at around two am on Sunday morning and he “was taken to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, for treatment.”

The area has been cordoned off and police teams are still in attendance, having erected an incident tent.

Police Scotland said: “Enquiries into how the man sustained his injuries are ongoing.”

Police Scotland are expected to release a further statement tonight.
