Ever wonder just how much your privacy is evaded by your digital footprint? Does this put you at risk? What does this have to do with terrorism?

This year, The Carnegie Club of St Andrews is proud to present the IDEAS Series 2015/2016 – Learn, where an expert panel will discuss these questions and more. The event, taking place this Thursday, the 24th of September at The Buchanan Lecture Theatre is centred on The Information Age, focusing on the topics of privacy, security, and terrorism.

The panel line up includes Dr. Kenneth Greers, Mr. Eduardo Ustaran and Mr. John Reid and the event is being chaired by Professor Louise Richardson, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of St Andrews, world renowned expert in terrorism, and Patron of The Carnegie Club. All of the evening’s speakers are experts in their respective fields and are prepared for what is set to be one of the most topical discussions to grace St Andrews this semester.

When asked about the panel, head of events Julian Zchocke said: “We are honoured to be hosting such a diverse range of experts in St Andrews, and thrilled to have Dr. Richardson chair this event, which will be one of her last in St Andrews. Our hope is for attendees to feel roused and inspired, to really lean into the topics of privacy, security, and terrorism.”

Kelly Saiz, President of The Carnegie Club aptly put into words the aim of the club, which is “to spread ideas throughout St. Andrews – Learn will leave you with something to think about, something to talk about, something to work out in your head.”
