Five things you must do this week…
It’s the last week of classes, but we’re more interested in these events…
Itchy Feet
Itchy Feet is BACK. Get your dancing shoes on and head down to the Union this Thursday for a night of amazing music, with the organisers promising “all the rock ‘n’ roll, ska, swing, soul, and blues that you could ask for.” There’s even a live headline act – Hannah Rickard and the Relatives. Tickets are on sale online – Don’t get cold feet, get Itchy Feet.
Red, White and Trews
The Polo and Clay Clubs are descending upon the Balgove Steak Barn to bring you an evening of boots, Barbours and BBQs, with all proceeds going to the charity Help for Heroes. Make the most of the recent summer sun and join them for a chilled country-style night with dancing, an auction, a raffle and champagne, moving on to The Vic for the after-pary. Entry will be refused if you are not in tweed and/or a Barbour (probably). Tickets are on sale outside the library from 12-4pm on Monday and Tuesday.
The Sea Food Dining Finale
The fabulous Fine Food & Dining Society are putting on their very last event of the semester this Thursday with a seafood spectacular taking place at none other than the Seafood Restaurant (obviously). Join them for a “fa-blowfish” three-course dinner, with wine, and make sure you get one last yummy meal in before the pandemonium that is revision/exam season (and the ensuing struggle to pull together anything that even slightly resembles a proper meal). Tickets are available here.
A Different Kind of Letter-Writing Campaign
This Friday, from 11 to 4pm in the Rector’s Café, the Students’ Association are putting on a different type of letter-writing campaign. They’re encouraging students to give thanks, be it to friends, teachers or anyone in-between, and are promising to make sure your letter gets to wherever it needs to go! The event aims to promote mental health and to remind us all to take the time to say thank you – such a wonderful idea, so make sure you don’t miss out! #100happydays
GET INVOLVED
Though it seems like ages away, next year will come round quicker than we’d like – so make sure you’ve got something to distract you from work/the inevitable awful weather. This week seems to be full of AGMs and committee applications – give something new a try and apply…
And SeRiOuSlY though, it is the last week of class, so perhaps now’s the time to start going to some?
