Get your Morocc-on
The surf was up, we just wish it still was!
When a fashionista hears the words “surf trip”, it conjures up images of ill-fitting wetsuits, an array of tropical print board shorts, flip flops and (God forbid) those ye old fashioned budgie smugglers.
This years surf trip to Morocco, however, bucked the trend and took fashion matters into their own hands. After a trip or two to the local souks, the party emerged rocking distinctly boho surf vibes with a hint of “gap yah” chic. Shapes were loose and materials light and free flowing. Harems became a surfing staple and appeared in a whole host of colours and patterns.
Mike chose his harems in a fetching “Elmer the elephant” design. He adds the ubiquitous toggled jacket and traditional “Fez” hat – named after the Moroccan city that once produced the crimson berry dye used for its colour #suave#pout
Gabi opts for harems without a tapered ankle and goes for a more classic beanie hat. She completes the look with the ultimate beachside accessory – a bottle of H2O #hydration
Mr Trainer adopts his best surfer pose to display those harems in all their voluminous glory. The cotton jacket makes another appearance, layered over this years stash – a pullover in “heather grey”. His bottle does not contain water #smilelikeyoumeanit #awkward
Freddie roots for a 80s hippie vibe in some delightful tie-dye and chooses a canvas plimsole as footwear #helloladies
Natasha shows that the glamour need not be an afterthought. The sheer blouse tucked into high waisted harems accentuates the silhouette, with earthy hues mother nature would be proud of. A statement piece of bling completes the look perfectly. #arabiannights
As much as we ventured out and experimented with local design – there’s always one… #speedohno
