TEDx And IPA Present…

An academic feast comes to St Andrews this afternoon. Be there!

Later this afternoon, Karen Armstrong, a TED Fellow, will be giving a talk on “The Dynamics And Future of Christianity in the 21st Century”. The talk, organised by the International Politics Association and TEDxUniversityofStAndrews, has already sold out and promises to be an insightful preview into the upcoming TEDx conference on April 26th.

Karen Armstrong is a prominent world figure and is the ambassador for the UN Alliance of Civilizations. She has given talks at the US Congress, addressed the Council of Foreign Relations and has lectured policy makers at the US State Department. Her experience as a former nun has shaped her understanding of religion today and is the crux of her spiritual awakening. Her talk at St Andrews will certainly invite many curious minds, encouraging both theists and atheists to contemplate her take on the future of Christianity.

Last year’s TEDx conference was a great success featuring an array of speakers discussing everything from automatons to the importance of preserving the child within. The latter theme inspired that of this year: ‘The Power of Play’.

Keep an eye on the TEDx and IPA Facebook page for updates on upcoming talks and ticket sales.
