Five things you must do this week…

RAG on!

I tried to look for other things to do this week, but as expected RAG  eclipses all. So this time, let’s highlight the best of the next seven days in terms of Raising And Giving!

dRAGWALK: It had to be number one. In an all-new RAG event, our friends The Jazzle Sisters present dRag Walk, a search for the newest drag sensation and involving lip syncing. This is pretty much all the event description provides, leaving many open questions about the actual format of the evening. However, where the Sisters are concerned you can be 100% sure of a good time, so I don’t really care whether it’s just those two parading up and down for three hours in different pairs of heels – I’m in. Monday 8pm, Venue 2.

Mr St Andrews: Usually RAG’s most popular event, Mr St Andrews returns once more to dazzle and delight audiences with the array of talents the most beautiful men among us possess. This year looks like a pretty decent bunch, and although the VIP tickets are sold out, you can still get your hands on regular ones and potentially a lap dance. Tuesday at 8pm, Venue 1.

St Andrews Got Talent: Ignore the terrible grammar, this year promises singers, beatboxers, a poet, live music, dance troupes and a judging panel of ‘local celebs’…hmm. Go for the laughs/to support your friends who are participating and getting laughed at. Thursday, 8pm, Venue 1.

Sinners Sport: This one is a special Sinners involving UV and more sweatbands than usual. I know we all hate the Union now, but let’s just be practical and arrive on time so nobody is stuck waiting in the inevitable past-11 queue of hundreds dressed in exercise gear. Wednesday at 10.30pm (and I really mean 10.30pm…).

Messy Bombs and Library Fines: The drink of the week is the Messy Bomb, with 20p of each one sold going to the charities. If you need any help deciding on how many to buy, just remember that Messerschmitt is a mere 22%ABV to Jagermeister’s 35…better compensate. On a more *academic* note, library fines paid up this Thursday will  go to charity, so pay them online here or at the library desk – seems a little more worthwhile than the black hole they otherwise disappear into.
