Review: Nobel Ball

The Scandinavian Society presents Nobel Ball.

As the society who put the ‘Cray’ in Crayfish, the Scandinavian Society’s Nobel Ball took place on Friday night at The Scores Hotel. Guests were greeted with a champagne reception and, after time spent mingling and socialising, we  took our seats at assigned tables. The venue was well decorated and, as is to be expected with Scandinavian Society events, the tables were well stocked with bottles of wine and Fisk, a Danish vodka that was the sponsor for the evening. Not only was it delicious, but also the reason for the wild atmosphere (many thanks from me to Fisk).

Revelers were all prompted to take shot after shot with people dancing on chairs and lifting tables in the air.  Speeches ensued with selected members making odes to Scandinavian notables that had everyone laughing.  During the speeches a fabulous three-course meal which even an incorporated smoking break was provided. As dessert came around everyone was more than eager to hit the dance floor.  The tables were  cleared and the newly established DJs Fabian Loke and Julius Von Gierke started their set.  The bar closed at 1am, service was slow although this was due to everyone crowding around it (I said it was wild!).

Everyone had a marvelous time, the blow up Fisk bottle which was making its round on the dance floor ensured made the dancing even more fun.  Thanks to the Scandinavian Society, as well as The Scores Hotel, this was a night to remember, sophisticated and fun, there was really nothing more that could be done to make it an even better night!
