The worst winter in decades pops the Bubble

Pull out your parkas.

It seems we are going to have to relinquish dreams of wearing tea dresses all the way through to spring, as reports state that Scotland could face the “worst winter in decades”. Following the surprisingly pleasant summer we enjoyed, the UK has been warned that snow could arrive uncharacteristically early.

Oh-so-luckily for St Andrews’ students, Scotland is likely to get the worst of the weather with snowfall thought to reach record breaking depths in mere weeks. It is thought the bizarrely harsh weather will lead to chaos as everyone struggles to come to terms with the fact that it is finally time to dig out your thermals and glue your coat to your body for the foreseeable future. A forecaster for Vantage Weather Services has rather worryingly described the upcoming cold snap as “potentially paralysing.”

It would seem that fluffy jumpers and as many layers as possible may be wholly necessary if we are to face what James Madden, a forecaster from Exacta Weather, has described as an imminent “big freeze”. It may be time to raid Tesco for its nonperishables.
