UPDATE: In conjunction with the university’s Guide Dog Society, Nightline is now also offering puppy encounters in the Salad Bowl on May 6th from 12-3pm! It just keeps getting better.

This is going to be a ticketed event and the puppies will be off the lead and playing with no more than three petters at one time. In order to get your name on the VIP (Very Important Puppies) list, join the facebook group. Ticket sales will open on Friday.

The winds have changed in Scotland, as Edinburgh and Aberdeen are now no longer the only unis to offer the best love of all: puppy love. The Stand can confirm that TheraPets, the same charity running the puppy therapy in Edinburgh, are bringing their barking banter to St Andrews on Friday the 10th from 2-4 in the Salad Bowl.

Though these three streets have seen puppies in the not-so-distant past, notably in Andrew Melville Hall last week and McIntosh Hall last semester, this is the first effort put forth by the Students’ Association to calm our exam anxieties with furry friends. DoRep Amanda Litherland said about the dogs, “I hope that this will help relax students near to exam time. What a great excuse for a revision break!” We agree, Amanda, we agree.

Therapets, the puppy charity of choice, is run by locals who sign up their own dogs to visit schools or hospitals. The dogs’ welfare always comes first, and supervisors will be on hand to ensure the dogs aren’t loved to the point of danger.

If you are one of the lucky few with a secret pet, learn how to get involved with Therapets here. If, like us at The Stand, ýou aren’t so lucky, we’ll see you in the Salad Bowl for some good old fashioned puppy lovin’.
