Charity Polo Tournament: Hurrah! It’s that time of year again when we truly live up to terrible stereotyping – it’s Polo weekend! Advance ticket sales take place this Wednesday and Thursday outside the library for a mere £5, so you can secure your attendance at the Strathtyrum Estate, with matches ranging from beginner (or ‘guaranteed laughs’), to exhibitions of the best that Scotland has to offer. Oxford are also coming so they can be beaten miserably by our superior players, something we can all enjoy cackling at. Food and drink provided by Balgove Larder (nom).

Carnival: Don’t be sad, it’s carnivale! Taking place in the Aquarium for a truly exotic vibe, the Hispanic Society are having a fiesta this Friday. With music from the highly praised Black Sheep and DJ Tom Burns, shots on arrival, traditional Janetta’s and a 1am finish, this is the place to be this Friday night. You can even get in for the last hour of the bop!  Ticket on sale Monday and Tuesday 12-2 outside – you guessed it – the library.

Fight Night: People beating each other up for charity in Venue 1? I haven’t heard of a better way to spend a Tuesday night. With all proceeds going to local charity Families First, tickets are available on the door and outside the library Monday and Tuesday from 10am.

Vodka Night: The Russian Society have lived up to all expectations and are throwing a party in 40s ballroom on Tuesday, so if you don’t love blood and missing teeth there is an alternative.  Did I mention you get free vodka all night (for the price of your ticket)? Free. All night. Free vodka all night. So…you buy a ticket and the vodka is free. All night. Okay? Are we all clear? Good. Check the Facebook event for ticket info. And remember: it’s free vodka.

Bass Camp @ The Vic: Okay, so I lied when I said there is only one or two good things to do on Tuesday. The Vic is giving you one last chance to get down with the beats, usefully operating a strange tiered ticket system so you can work out just how worthy your friends are of your company. Going to the Polo? You’ll want a First Class VIP. This gets you a bottle of Grey Goose, canapés and a waiter. Don’t know your nearside from your mallethead? You’ll want Standard Class…
