It was suggested that this week, we theme our selection around the topic of revision. Unfortunately, despite now being in fourth year, I don’t have a whole lot to contribute on that subject. I am, however, considered somewhat of an expert on procrastination and what better way is there to waste an inordinate amount of time than pouring over videos of the best selling R&B group of ALL TIME?

1) Motownphilly

The boyz burst on to the nineties pop scene with this first single comprising of some killer dance moves and some swanky blazers, Boyz II Men were going off, not too hard, not too soft.

2) End of the Road

Not only was this single the boyz’z first number one, it became the biggest selling number ones of all time on the Billboard chart when it was released in 1992 breaking a record previously set by Elvis. They held this record until 1994 when they were beaten by… themselves. Natch.

3) I’ll Make Love to You

So what was this other hit that knocked our no. 2 from it’s record-breaking top spot, I hear you ask? It must have ben pretty sweet to acheive such a feat. Of course it was, it was this classic! Not only is the song simply amazing, the “setting the scene” at the start of the video by the friendly neighbourhood burglar alarm installer is simply Oscar-worthy.

4) On Bended Knee

Our no. 3 stayed at number one on the Billboard chart for a massive fourteern weeks. Remember people, this was the nineties when people actually had to physically buy CDs. Alas, all good things must come to an end, but when it was finally knocked off the top spot, it was replaced by our no. 4, making the boyz only the third artist in history to replace themselves at number one. The other two were Elvis and the Beatles #funfact.

5) Silent Night

Finally, if, like me, you have finished your exams and dissertation (sorry couldn’t resist) and are looking for a bit of festive cheer, the boyz have a full on Christmas album. This song is taken from an appearence on the Fresh Prince at the christening of his cousin, named Nicholas Michael Shawn Nathan Wanya Banks, like many nineties kids, in tribute to the greatest by band of all time.
