This week, I’m not going to squander time by telling you all the things that you could do which involve leaving your room. You haven’t showered, or left that revision hellhole of a desk for three days, have you? I thought not. Here are the top five ways our old friend, the Internet, can aid your procrastination.

Reddit: I’m pretty sure I’m breaking some kind of exclusive, hipster, it’s-good-becuz-only-cool-people-know rule by advertising my new favourite thing. Maybe I’m late to the party, maybe I’m a huge noob, but Reddit is one hell of a great distraction. At the moment, I’m loving IAmA: this girl lives on a boat! Ask her anything! Is that interesting? I don’t even know anymore, but this guy is a 911 dispatcher which is a bit more thrilling. This is just one tiny corner of Reddit, so beware of the endless hours you will lose in this place…

Pinterest: Perhaps one more for the girls, but gents I’m sure you understand that a large percentage of the Internet is dedicated your, ahem, needs anyway. Ladies, Pinterest can do anything, from teaching you that it’s never too early to start picking out wedding dresses, to demonstrating how to make the best peanut butter pretzel brownies, all with a pretty image. The best and most beautiful image-sharing site on the net allows you to create virtual, themed pinboards, repin from others and generally find things to make your life prettier, tastier and more productive.

Best of Youtube: Self explanatory. Waste away the day in a blink of an eye by getting lost in what seems like an unending ‘You’ve Been Framed’. To get you started try the Battle of Talking Carl, or remind yourself of the absolute classic Evolution of Dance – never gets old.

This is Why I’m Broke: Are you desperate to find perfect Christmas present? This website can help: an amalgamation of all the totally shit and totally wonderful things you never thought would actually be invented. The pictures alone will blow your mind. Fan of Super Mario? Question Block Lamp with 8-bit activation noise.  Want to look super intellectual and old school on the way to the library? Old leather book laptop case. LOTR fan? Sauron armour. Be prepared to dedicate a good while to endless scrolling.

The Stand: Of course! You’re on it right now, so it must be a top form of procrastination. Why not check out some of our best loved, and of course most hated, articles? Let Jamie Ross remind you why he hates the Overheard Police, or hear an opinion on illegal drugs that has been labeled ‘baseless’, ‘pseudo-eco-conscious’ and simply ‘a crock of shit’ (check the wonderfully critical comments). Channel your revision into a fashion-conscious outing with a guide to library fashion, or love to hate the BNOC phenomenon. We have it all and more so stay awhile.
