This week, four second years went off for a lovely date at the Oakrooms. Alex and Rohan, Medics by day and ultimate bros by night, have recently become nude models, but confess to enjoying the female form much more than each other’s.

Karina is currently seeking out the perfect male to support her emotionally, physically and financially, and flatmate Kelsey claims to have an exceptional foam topper, which she isn’t afraid to use it as a pick up line.

Rohan and Alex on Kelsey and Karina

Before the date what were you hoping for?

Before the date Alex and I looked at it as a win-win. No matter who walked through those doors, we were still getting a free meal and a few bottles of wine. We’ve met our fair share of shocking girls, but not one of them has been able to stop us enjoying alcohol. And incidentally, alcohol has always helped us to enjoy girls, especially the questionable ones.

Before the date who were you hoping for?

Library girls. Any of them, they’re all hot. Where do they go on a Friday night? If you have an answer to this question, let us know – rr29 or adgr.

First impressions?

Impressed. We arrived a tactical 7-8 minutes late, as veterans of the double-blind-dating scene we knew all too well you don’t want to seem too keen. Ironically they arrived even later than we did. Evidently these two scallywags had GAME. The girls looked amazing, we were two happy bunnies.

What did you talk about?

We covered a lot of ground: the conversation flowed, as did the wine. We’d like to think a great time was had by all.

Any awkward moments? Spill something?

One of sorts, but I think that we handled it so well that the girls didn’t even notice. As we were leaving to go back to their house for more drinking, we stood up and bam – a problem arose. Karina, who had adopted the role of Alex’s date, was model height. Alex, a rugged, low centre of gravity attacking midfielder – not so much. We had to act fast. Instinctively we performed what we like to call, “the switcheroo” – and it worked to perfection. Don’t try this at home.

Did your date have good table manners? What was the food like?

Good manners all round. Alex opted for a pie, and we’re in Scotland; so naturally, it was sensational.

It should be noted that the blonde waitress in the Oak Rooms is a solid 9.

Would you introduce your date to your friends?

We already did, in the Vic later on. They all knew each other. Classic St Andrews.

Did you go on somewhere..?

We actually covered a whole variety of venues, although unfortunately not the lizard. We went back to “The Castle” where our two princesses dwelt. Drank some wine, played some ukulele, played some spin the bottle. Next stop was the Vic, then back to ours for some more drinking. We got the girls presents too – candy canes. One of them came in very handy.

Would you see your date again? Or do you think it’s only awkward glance territory down the vegetable aisle in Tesco?

Of course! Definitely not awkward, much more likely to be hilarious.

Did you enjoy yourself? What was the Oak Rooms romantic table like?

We got a booth, it was nice. Good leg room. We had a great time. Thank you Karina and Kelsey for a wonderful evening.

Kelsey and Karina on Alex and Rohan

Before the date what were you hoping for?

A little game of playful footsy, but in reality only a free meal.

Before the date who were you hoping for?

A Scandinavian KK-member, or really anyone else but that.

First impressions?

Boys! All requirements were thus filled! But they certainly went above and beyond our expectations.

What did you talk about?

We talked about their careers as nude models and how their reputations grew tremendously as a result of taking off their clothes for money. Other topics also included; trashy summer holidays, drunken mistakes, their scando-obsession, and their undying bromance. Overall, good conversation!

Any awkward moments? Spill something?

A charming awkwardness was an ever-present theme of the night, though no significant spillages….

Did your date have good table manners? What was the food like?

Great food. Even greater manners!

Would you introduce your date to your friends?

Indeed. As long as clothing remains intact. No Magic Mikes in The Castle!

Did you go on somewhere..?

An after-party followed; featuring red wine, candles, and a baileys & hot chocolate nightcap 😉

Would you see your date again?

They’ve already been spotted in the library. Next time we promise not to bail!

Did you enjoy yourself? What was the Oak Rooms romantic table like?

A great excuse for a night off studying, and good way to make new friends, eat delicious food, and subject some poor fellows to our rusty flirting techniques.
