St Andrews is building a shiny new Union building, and the Students’ Association has hit the ground running with the launch of a new Facebook page. Digi-Age.com.

If the thought of the imminent construction and scaffolding wasn’t enough, the page will feature photos, videos, and news to bring the revamping of the Union to the forefront of St Andrews’ minds. The Association is also encouraging students to use the page to voice their comments and concerns about the new building, namely, will the café be good and will the McIntosh shortcut still be accessible?

The Association is also asking students’ assistance in naming the café and shop, which can be done on the Facebook page too. The new Union is shaping up to be a community effort, as President Freddie Fforde said that “student engagement with the new building is really important and we’d like to encourage as many students as possible to see what is going forward.”

Though University Court’s final decision to give this project the necessary funding will not come until January, here is a prime opportunity for students to gaze in wonder at the modern architecture, shop, and hopefully delicious café (of the future).
