On Wednesday night, the Athletics Union proudly presented DJ Locksmith, aka Leon from Rudimental. Already one of the biggest nights of Freshers Week, sportsmen and women attending ‘The Games’ were also treated to a fantastic DJ set from the man himself.

When he arrived on stage 12am prompt, Venue 1 was filled with eager sports teams dressed to impress (hats off to the Surf Team who appeared to have swapped continents and had come out dressed for a Sydney summer). Beginning the set with a round-up of the summer’s best anthems, Leon took us on a journey through Azelia, Dizzie, Guetta and many more. Never relenting, always keeping us on our toes, it was impossible not to dance to such epic tracks.

Just as the set hit its stride, Leon asked his audience “WHO likes a bit of Drum n’ Bass?!” He responded to a roaring crowd with seriously up-and-coming Dubstep, drum n’ bass, and some London grime – just for good measure. If the crowd hadn’t been convinced already, they were now. And finally, he made his way back to some classic house tracks before finishing with the eagerly-awaited “Feel The Love”. The atmosphere was bouncing.

DJ Locksmith proved himself a crowd pleaser, a gentlemen and all round Dude. It was hard not to feel the love.
