St Andrews researchers have discovered that flushed cheeks can result from even the most innocent social interaction between a male and female.

During experiments involving controlled contact (strictly non-sexual), scientists observed that female participants’ faces and chests, known as ‘personal locations’, WHEY OH, heated up by as much as a degree celsius.

Lead author Amanda Hahn and her co-authors, Carmen Lefevre and David Perrett, believe that their findings may have interesting implications on both lie detection tests and a man’s physio-psychological response to a blushing woman.

Could the involuntary, yet irresistible glow of a woman be an evolutionary seduction technique? Could the cosmetics industry suffer from declining sales as women reject redundent Blusher? Or maybe it’s just that St Andrews’ supposed lack of sexytime has bred some highly charged female students, just hoping and longing for the slightest opportunity…
