Reach Out St Andrews has praised the efforts of students for making a positive difference over the last year by hosting an event in Lower College Hall. Hosted by the Students’ Association and Student Services, the event was used to recognize the £112,000 raised by the Charities Campaign and other societies as well as the 29,750 hours committed by SVS volunteers.
Reach Out St Andrews (#rosa) allowed students to review the year’s projects and activities. Awards were delivered to the volunteers by Dr Chris Lusk, Director of Student Services.
Shelley Talbot, SVS President, told The Stand, “It was great to see how many students really contribute to the St Andrews community, and make a huge difference in their short time here. We hope to continue this tradition into the next year.”
Michael Koudounas, outgoing Charities Convenor added, “It’s incredible to see the amount of time St Andrews students have given up this year to help such a diverse range of brilliant causes and local projects, and I’m delighted that students, staff and members of the local community were able to come together for this event to recognise and celebrate those achievements.”
This all goes to show, without a decent nightlife, students can be productive!
