The DON’T WALK 2012 fashion show was outstanding – showcasing amazing pieces from collections designed by the likes of Céline, Lucza, Marc Stone, Goldie, Amore & Sorvete, Aqua and Giggle Juice. They were god damn sexy: lavish corsets, tutus, flapper dresses, eye-grabbing multi-coloured head pieces and stylishly swish menswear (accompanied by some bloody bouncing tunes) gave the show an all-round upbeat vibe. The models were as stunning as ever with golden sun kissed tans, heavy eyebrows (featured widely in Paris Fashion Week) and sleek hairstyles. The Bobbi Brown makeup and Tony & Guy hairstyles were flawless alongside the choreography that was enhanced by the flirtatiousness of the models with the audience.

A show as unreal as that had to follow with an after party just as sleek. As models celebrated with champagne and screams backstage, the catwalk was transformed into a place for the party animals that were somewhat crammed into a confined space, as guests waited for the delayed party to commence.

Once the party got going, the DJ’s of C90 got crackin’. The DJ’s mixed on the entrance of the catwalk, surrounded by strobe lights that added an edgy, contemporary look to the dance floor.

As glamorously dressed guests grooved away in the podium that stood in the centre of the floor-’10 dollar shake’ bar, where some very attractive barmen served (no wonder the ladies were flocking.)

Kinkell was once again transformed into an elegant space for all to enjoy, with a huge globe paper pendant lampshade engulfing the sofa-lined chill out area between the cloakroom and VIP tent. The second bar  showed off the ‘DONT WALK’ logo with edgy clothing tags hanging from the roof in a bunting effect.

The VIP area was in a marquee that was elegantly lined with a draping cream silk-looking outlined with pretty fairy lights and furnished with contemporary black furry couches. The private bar area, serving champagne and mojitos galore, added to the niche feel about the ‘secret’ after party that was for the VIP holders, models, events managers and press.

All-in-all the event was a success, and certainly a lot better than a standard night out in small St Andrew’s, adding a more upbeat vibe and livelier, A-list feel to our lives. Let’s face it, we want that London town night life every once in a while!

For those of us who were lucky enough to see the show itself, that was most likely the highlight of the evening, but the after party certainly added to the evening as a bonus – and for those who paid £15, it was definitely worth it – especially since all money goes to a fantastic charity Zamcog that supports the Shitima School in Kabwe, Zambia – the only thing better than an amazing night is when your enjoyment can benefit others!
