A motion submitted to the SRC (Student Representative Council) will be debated later this evening regarding the conduct of Director of Representation, Sam Fowles. The motion demands Fowles make a formal apology for his involvement in both the recent KKC/KKF debacle and Alastair Moffat’s rectorial campaign.

Tuesday’s SRC motion specifically cites KKF/KKC events to show misconduct. According to the motion, although Fowles’ conduct was constitutional, its secretive nature “brought widespread dissatisfaction” and “tarnished the image of the SRC”.

Earlier on Monday, Fowles was spotted going around the Union seeking signatures for a counter-petition (for his video, click here). Kate Andrews, Rector’s Assessor was reported as having spoken before lectures to ask students to sign the same document.

This is the latest episode in a long, drawn-out saga that has no clear end in sight. What do you think?
