Dear FTSE 100 Company/ Times Top 100 Graduate Employer/ The Big Four,

My name is Randy StAndrewsman, I am a third-year student and quite frankly, you need look no further for the future CEO of your organisation. In spite of this (I would apply for CFO if I could), I am applying for your position of summer analyst. I have always been interested in your organisation since I met your company at the St Andrews graduate fair last week. Since this convocation I have dreamed of adding value to the filing and photocopying workflow system of your organisation. I enclose my CV for your consideration.

I am interested in applying for the position of student intern because your PR-hounding has made me aware that I will struggle to find meaningful graduate employment without one. I feel that your organisation’s focus on nurturing talent to become future leaders resonates with my belief that I will be a Chief Executive within ten years. I have organised student events so, ipso facto, I will organise your company from top to bottom.

As my CV illustrates, my extra-curricular activities are second to only the rest of my university peers. I regularly take ownership of large-scale student events and provide synergies between my underlings. In particular, I have delivered quality in creating the world’s greatest fashion show and have since been employed as a consultant for Louis Vuitton’s runway show. I have also volunteered profusely in the third sector, developing a not-for-profit homeless-person-recycling organisation. Truly unique in our scope, we make sure a homeless person is not just for Christmas.

Sports and societies are integral to my proactive personality. I have helped drive collaboration and inclusion, most notably through my membership of numerous all-male drinking societies. Furthermore, I take rigorous exercise when I can and regularly play darts. In warm-ups I even play ultimate. Not only do I play university level sports constantly, I am a brand ambassador for a sweatshop in Indonesia. I make an impact and seize business opportunities by advocating (through communication skills) the benefits of youth employment.

I feel that I am the embodiment of your company’s ‘values’. Excellence is in my nature; I strive for continual improvement. Furthermore, I’m an excellent team player; that is of course, so long as I am the captain and leader of the team.

I accept in advance your offer of the job, and merely enclose my CV to follow protocol.

Sincerely,

Randy Standrewsman
