‘I took part in a naked bike ride’: Meet Corin Holloway, running for VP Activities

Starting off this years' election interviews is Corin Holloway, running for VP activities. We sent him a number of questions about his manifesto, the election, and what he hopes to achieve, as well as some extras we were dying to know. This is what he had to say.

Why do you think you’d be good in this role?

I'm on the committee for seven societies and spend pretty much every day attending the events of 20-ish different ones. I've also been Clubs and Societies Officer for the last year.

What is the most important point in your manifesto?

To compile all the society events and volunteering opportunities happening over freshers' week to give out in the halls welcome pack and throughout the year, so people who are bored can look through the list of things to see what's on, which is currently difficult without joining the Facebook group for every society.

What is the first thing you’d change if you were elected?

Probably my hoodie.

What area of our Student Union do you think needs the greatest improvement?

Getting societies more involved in events they run.

What makes you different from the other candidates also running for the same position?

I spend pretty much all my free time doing volunteering or society things.

How would you celebrate if you won?

Election night live after party. Although I'll do that even if I don't win

Any secret talents?

Not secret, but I do a bunch of circus tricks. If you've ever seen someone walking around campus with two sticks and a baton spinning, that's me.

What is the maddest thing you’ve done since being at Uni?

I took part in the World Naked Bike Ride and cycled all around Southampton with a big group of people.
