Candidates be scared

19:30

Part 1 of meeting the candidates commences

19:34

Technical issue, of course

19:40

Seems like Thomas G and Dan Varley agree on something

Dan wants to introduce a reward point system where people collect point when they spend money in US outlets. what’s your views? Good or bad?

19:41

Dan name dropping all the positions he held, showing he could be more qualified

The REBRAND has been mentioned! (when are we moving on LOL)

First question asked via social media [to Dan]: will the reward point system cause a rise in prices?

Dan: “No, spending more in the SUSU shop results in a free pint in the stags”

Tom – we are not quite sure about his response, but council tax was mentioned

19:47

Dan: ‘yes sometimes students cause problems but it’s not always students’ – Yes dan, standing up for the students XD

So Tom has admitted he was unaware of the change that the role entailed regarding halls – well this is awks!

Presenter ripping into Tom, he missed lack of halls in his manifesto. Shots fired everywhere.

DAN CORRECTS THE PRESENTER ON HOW MUCH RAG RAISES. I WONDER WHO NEEDS TO DO THEIR RESEARCH

A lot happened at 19:47

19:51

Tom name drops that he is the president of the Lib-Dem society!

A question about controversy has been asked. candidates counter that with ‘what do you mean by controversy’ #whatiscontroversy

19:53

Finally, time to move on

20:02

Sam Dedman, candidate for VP Education, is on stage all alone. Would it be bad if I shouted out ‘YOU ARE NOT ALONE!’

Theres challenges being done backstage with candidates. If you wanna watch, SUSUtv are broadcasting it https://www.facebook.com/SUSUtv/?fref=ts #shoutouttoSUSUtv

20:10

Back with Sam yo

He has a two-hour lecture on how to bind his dissertation. He think he’s being patronised. I just wouldn’t attend.

20:13

Shout out to the student who booked out a room with 40 computers just to use a whiteboard.

Sam comes across really confident. Seems like he knows his shit.

*Sam looks at Alexs in the crowd who gives him an approving nod* – It’s ok Sam!

FREE PRINTING, FREE PRINTING, FREE PRINTING! (apparently this is currently being implemented) #PrintingParty

20:20

Sam says the suspense is killing him – Don’t die on us just yet Sam!

Question about joint honour degress: he wants to address them and work with them (I think, kinda missed what he said)

Sam has officially walked of the stage and to the back stage crew to do challenges.

We miss you already Sam

20:27

Our deputy editor,Natalie is on her way. She is just urinating.

20:34

Back again with candidates running for VP Sports Development, Ben Parker and Stephen Gore.

Both candidates told us the experience they have. Lets just say they have loads (Stephen Pres of basketball, Ben Pres of mixed lacrosse)

20:39

Ben is explaining his idea called ‘Women hour’ which has stirred up a fuss!

He says he aint the first to suggest having this scheme. He claims that Warwick has a similar scheme.

Stephen disagrees and says ‘we are smarter than this’.

According to Stephen, we need to tackle the root cause of why women feel uncomfortable to use the gym rather than introduce an hour just for them.

20:40

Wagwan Natalie

20:43

Stephen disagrees that the there is a lack of space #whoislying

Lad culture is being bough up. Ben says that there is nothing with lad culture getting out of hand. He says that lads culture is a loose term

Tom (presenter) asks him to define what he means by lad culture.

Ben replies with ‘a group of boys who bully and get their point across louder’

Stephen butts in and says ‘but you also said lad culture was ok, so are you saying bullying is ok?’

It’s ok Ben, we will get out the frozen peas.

20:49

Ben is being grilled again. This time about homophobia.

20:50

Ben denies any knowledge of this

20:52

Ben has a close friend.

20:54

Bunfight in Semester Two. Groundbreaking.

20:55

Thats them done, they both get off the stage! That was kinda intense ngl. Neither crumbled

Lii keeps getting distracted by Stephen’s tattoo. Show us all off it Stephen #showusthetatt! Stephen if you’re reading this, dm your digits
