‘Savage assault’ in Orange Rooms leaves two in hospital

Police are investigating a “savage assault” on two clubbers in Orange Rooms.

The attack was unprovoked as the men danced with friends in the Bedford Place bar, a favourite of students, on Saturday night.

Two men were taken to hospital with facial injuries.

The attacker left the club immediately, and police are appealing for witnesses, describing the man as white, 5ft 10ins, aged in his mid to late 20s, of medium/athletic build with short dark hair.

He was wearing a red tartan/chequered shirt and was with a woman described as white, of slim build, with short blonde hair worn in a bob style and wearing a white top.”

Police Staff Investigator Katherine Pullen said: “This has been described as a savage and unprovoked attack which left the two victims with injuries that will require further medical treatment.”

They are appealing for anyone with information to come forward by calling 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
