Benjamin LowrieAn investigation has been launched today into a serious sex attack on a teenage girl on Portswood Road.
Officers have blocked off a section of the northern area of Portswood Road this morning following the attempted rape in the early hours of Thursday morning.
A man who came to the woman’s aid was then robbed by the attacker.
The incident occured on Portswood Road between the junctions of Brickfield Road and Bowden Lane, between midnight and 4am.
Police remain on the scene, and have been sighted throughout the day knocking on nearby doors, looking for information about the attacks.
Hampshire Constabulary has been unavailable for comment throughout the day.
Anyone with information related to the attacks is asked to contact Hampshire Police on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
