Benjamin LowriePolice search teams looking for local mother Charlene McCluskey, who has been missing since last Wednesday, have found a body this evening.
The mother of two, 29, was last seen leaving work at the Richmond Inn at 11:35pm on Wednesday 11th February.
The body was located “in an area of dense woodland near Southampton Common”, according to this report. Police had been carrying out door to door enquiries on Gordon Avenue earlier today.
The body has yet to be formally identified, but police have notified the McCluskey family.
A police spokesman said:
We would like to take this opportunity to extend our deepest gratitude to the public and media who have helped us in the search since Ms McCluskey was reported missing last Thursday (February 12).
Our thoughts remain with Ms McCluskey’s family.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
