LGBTSOC told the Soton Tab:
LGBT History Month is an important time to celebrate the unique contributions of LGBT people. We hope that everyone will learn a little bit more about LGBT life, culture and the community through the events we’ve organised and through our magazine!
All of our events are open to anyone, so please come along!
Kicking things off will be a Launch Party at The Bridge on Wednesday 11th, centered on a magazine launch that Wessex Scene have described as a collaboration of “over three” societies, covering “a diverse range of topics”.
On the 17th you can “show your support” by adding your handprint to a rainbow tapestry in the main SUSU building.
More excitingly, Union Films will be hosting free screening of the critically acclaimed Pride on Sunday 15th, and there will also be a screening of the Frida Kahlo biopic Frida in the Murray Building on Thursday 26th.
All the details can be found here, and if you’re interested in joining LGBTSOC, there’s more information on their website.
What do you think of the events? Exciting or Underwhelming? Let us know in the comments!
