An internet outage is expected tonight as the University’s network undergoes major improvement works.

The outage will take place between 7pm and midnight on March 17th (tonight) and will affect all networked IT services across University both on and off campus.

During this period Hartley Library will remain open as usual, but Avenue Library and the Language Resource Centre will close at 6pm and Winchester School of Art at 6:30pm.

Between 7pm and midnight there will be no access to networked services in University libraries or workstation areas.

Disruptions include:

-Access to your University e-mails will be unavailable

-VPN will be inaccessible

-Webcat will be down

-Hartley Library loan services will end at 7pm

-Books may be returned, but there will be no online user services, no holds, no inter-library loans, no renewals, and no inter-site loans

-No holds can be serviced during the outage period, there will be restricted access to returned stock

-All printers will be out of use.

The University apologise for any inconveniences caused. Make sure you download and save everything you need in plenty of time…of if you forget, just go to Jesters instead!
