Preview: Fashion and Style Society's RAG Winter Fashion Show

It’s a trend that has taken off at other universities around the country, but on Monday 9th December the Fashion & Style Society will be putting on the first EVER RAG fashion show seen at Southampton Uni.

The show contains six ‘mini’ shows, each run by different directors and introduced by a different performing society and sponsored by local boutiques such as Little by Little and With Love Betty.

Everyone involved in the show – from directors and make-up artists to models – is a student, and in a bid to highlight the diversity of the University, all of the models represent different shapes and sizes.

FashionSoc President and founder Shannon Cross told the Soton Tab:

I set up the Society with this event in mind and I’m so happy with how it’s all coming together. I think that having performing societies to introduce each look transforms it from a catwalk to a real show. We’ve been working so hard on the committee to make this event really special and we hope to raise a lot of money for RAG and hopefully to create an event that will continue in future years.

 

The Show will take place on Monday 9th December, in Garden Court at 7pm (doors 6.45pm). Tickets are on sale from Monday 25^th via the box office – £5 for FashionSoc Members and £7 for non-members; check out the event page here.
